Confidence, not overwhelm

How do I stay in control when I use AI?

TideProof editorial guide · Reviewed 2026-09-14

Keep the goal, important choices, and final review clear. Decide what the tool may help with and what it should not do on your behalf. Knowing whether a system is suggesting something or actually taking an action is especially important.

For a practical start, ask for options rather than a decision: several ways to organize a task, with tradeoffs you can evaluate. Choose what fits, make changes, and decline anything unsuitable. Trustworthy use is not blind acceptance. It is a process in which you understand and retain meaningful responsibility.
