Confidence, not overwhelm

How can I use AI without losing confidence in my own abilities?

TideProof editorial guide · Reviewed 2026-09-14

Use assistance in a way that leaves room for your own effort and understanding. For a skill you want to develop, try making an initial attempt before consulting AI. Then compare approaches and identify what you learned instead of simply replacing your attempt.

You might write a short explanation, ask where it is unclear, and revise it yourself. Public concerns about weakened human skills make this a worthwhile question. The aim is to let the tool support practice and reflection, not quietly take over the activity you hoped to learn.
