Working well with AI

Why does AI sometimes give different answers to the same question?

TideProof editorial guide · Reviewed 2026-09-14

Responses can vary because of how a system generates language, the context it receives, the information it retrieves, or changes in the product. Different wording may simply offer another explanation, but a changed factual claim needs checking.

If two responses disagree, identify the exact point of disagreement and consult an appropriate source. Do not settle it by asking repeatedly until you see the answer you prefer. For a task that needs consistency, provide clear source material and criteria, then review whether each output actually follows them.
