Can I use someone else's work as an AI example?

TideProof editorial guide · Reviewed 2026-09-14

Not automatically. Having a copy of something does not always mean you may upload it to another service or reuse it for a new purpose. Consider the owner's permission, confidentiality, relevant agreements, and the tool's terms.

When you only need to explain a situation, use your own summary without identifying details or create an invented example. For public material, keep track of its source and any applicable use conditions. If permission is uncertain, choose a different example. You can learn effectively without using someone else's private work.
