What if AI feedback disagrees with my teacher’s rubric?

TideProof editorial guide · Reviewed 2026-09-14

Use the assignment’s actual requirements as your reference. An AI assistant may suggest a different writing style or approach without understanding what your teacher is assessing. A confident comment from a tool does not change the rubric or the rules for permitted help.

Compare the disputed feedback with the relevant instruction and mark the exact difference. If you are unsure, ask your teacher a focused question rather than silently changing the assignment. You can still learn from an alternative explanation, but decide whether it serves the task you were actually given. Keep your own understanding at the center.
