Consider which requirements are essential and which describe a preferred candidate. Required licenses, legal eligibility, or safety qualifications are different from a wish list of tools. You do not need to assume every missing item rules you out, but you should not claim a qualification you lack.
Compare the main tasks with specific examples from your experience. If there is a credible connection, explain it plainly and identify what you would need to learn. Where possible, clarify an ambiguous requirement with the employer. A thoughtful application is more useful than either automatic self-rejection or indiscriminate applying.
