How do I decide whether an AI subscription is worth it?

TideProof editorial guide · Reviewed 2026-09-14

Compare the subscription with a specific job you need done, not with a broad promise to transform the business. Consider the full cost: setup, staff time, review, corrections, and any other tools required. A low monthly price does not automatically make a product useful.

Choose a representative task and compare results with your current process. Check the provider's terms, usage limits, and cancellation conditions before committing. If the benefit is unclear, keep the trial small or use a simpler alternative. The right purchase is the one that solves a real problem within your constraints.
