TideProofRISE WITH IT

A new chapter

What if my employer has not approved AI tools?

TideProof editorial guide · Reviewed 2026-09-14

Do not assume that access to a tool means you have permission to use it for company work. Ask about approved tools, permitted information, and review expectations. You can still learn general skills without entering workplace documents or confidential details.

Practice with public information or an invented example that does not identify your employer, customers, or colleagues. You could also prepare a small proposal describing the task, expected benefit, and checks you would use. That makes the conversation about a concrete, manageable use rather than an open-ended request to use AI.
