How do I turn an everyday experience into an example I can reuse?

TideProof editorial guide · Reviewed 2026-09-15

Try this ten-minute exercise in a notebook or your own document. It needs no account or AI. Choose one ordinary, low-risk experience you can discuss without names, private records, or confidential details.

Write four short lines: what needed doing; what you personally did; what happened that you actually know; and what remains uncertain. Then write one sentence connecting those actions to a need you want to explore. Avoid adding a job title, qualification, or measured result you have not earned.

Finish by choosing a step you can complete in fifteen minutes, such as practicing a short explanation or comparing your example with one public job description. Write when you will do it. Read your notes once more and remove any claim you cannot explain. You now have an honest example and a manageable next action, not a promise of a job.
